They are not going to re-brand the H3 as a GM? I figured worst case they would do that as it is a decent vehicle.
Hummer to close after deal to sell to Chinese falls through - Feb. 24, 2010
Sorry Sam. I for one am saddened by this, the Chinese investors were planning to bring the H4 to market and I really liked the H3 Alpha.

Just saw that on the news as well. Sucks, but times are tough all over. Probably will just end up being another casualty.

Oh, I love children... but I couldn't eat a whole one.
I think I am going to dump it and move on. I am not the build type like you guys so look for my gear to go up for sale soon.
Ill probably get blasted for this BUT. I always thought the hummer line was just an over priced, blinged out chevy. But mostly I didnt like the direction jeep took by competing against the hummer line, they kind of lost thier personality. Im a jeep purest, so i had a hard time when they started to look like hummers. (kind of like owning a 4 door corvette) just my 2 cents, no offence.
i hate to see them go because they have a good following, but im with madjeepist, they were not my style, and same with the 4 door jeep, i do not like them, its just not right in my eyes, i know alot of people love them, but im not one of them, oh and madjeepist, i love the analogy with the 4 door corvette

Sure they shared a lot of drivetrain components, but you can't get a Chevy with 35s and a selectable rear locker. Or a Chevy with a 4:1 transfer case and lockers front and rear. I might not always like the yuppies that were driving them, but I appreciated what Hummer was bringing to the market.

The rise in gas prices in 2007 killed the hummer. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.
Agreed, I'd rented an H3 on a trip to Florida for a week and was very disappointed. Much more "Plasticated" than I'd expected them to be. I've never been a fan of the 4 door Jeeps either. Personally I think the rear doors are so small that you'd have to be a contortionist to squeeze through them. Of course I own a CJ7, so I'm quite biased.
