    Opinions and Options for Muffler

Hiya, ok my LA will NOT work with any type of exhaust pipe or muffler, so i looked it up and found this Flowmaster shorty for a little over $110. What if any other options do i have and still be able to pass emissions for registration? I also think i have a big cat convertor under the Jeep as well as near the headers, can I cut off the one under the jeep without any issues, error codes, etc.? Here are some pics of another Jeep with the same kit and muffler.

Pretty sure you have to keep the cat. When we did mine we used a cat from a Dodge pickup running the hemi engine. The cat is a lot smaller than the factory jeep one. Not sure if it would help enough for you running the bent arms.

    Move to Sandoval.

OK, seriously, I'm not 100% on this since I live in Rio Rancho and don't have to jump through this hoop, but wouldn't not having the cat on it fail visual inspection? For those of you that have to have this done, do they actually look under the vehicle to make sure that all of the components that should be on a specific year/make/model are present?

If you have ODBII, they just plug in and read it...never had one look under my Jeep or Diane's Mustang. But maybe the more modded it is, the more the look around??

I've never had anyone look either. My guess is that the O2 sensor would start throwing a code once the cat is removed.

Is there an o2 sensor after the cat? If so, it will throw a code if you take the cat off.

why not just get a cherrybomb instead? probably half that price and you can just pick it up locally here at vatozone or checkers the same day.

As far as the throwing codes. There is a sensor after the cat, if it isn't there it'll toss a code. What's your reasoning behind wanting to get rid of the cat anyway?

I don't want to get rid of it, I'm just trying to save space, with the rear triangulated 4 link the upper arms need some room and a typical exhaust won't work, it will end up looking something like this...

You should have enough room Paul with the way you are thinking. Should work fine. Thats the way both of the jeeps are now.
