Wow I can't wait to see this all come together.
Jeeping is a way of life that most people don't understand, even some "Jeepers"
It seems recently I have been thinking a lot about the Scrambler again lately.....
I think I have decided against the "full blown" build that I had planned.... it's a lot of money for a hobby that seems to have come down a notch or two on my list of things to do when I have free time. However, I still love Jeeps and still want a trail-capable Scrambler to cruise around!
So, let's talk frames and suspension...
My original plan was to go coil-over in the rear and leafs up front.. I was pretty much talked out of that in this thread and was headed in the coil-over all around direction. Since then I decided I really don't need that much Jeep and was thinking about leafs all they way around. My old CJ did just fine on leafs (with the sole exception of axle wrap - an issue which is fixable). But, I was browsing the TDK website this mornning and saw a "hybrid" option... hmmm. A CJ-8 frame that will accept TJ suspension systems! What do you guys think of this option?
Throttle Down Kustoms Hybrid Frames
JAY!!!
I think that would be an awesome option, honestly.
That is an excellent idea!

Can you do a long arm kit?
After talking with TDK, I think I am going to steer clear of the long arm kits. They basically build the frame to accept an LJ (2004 - 2006) kit. I'm afraid of what that will mean when it come to mounting the non-Jeep drive train. It will also basically lock me into using the the lift mfg skid plate... and I'm not sure I want to do that.
So, I'm thinking Short-Arm Hybrid TDK frame....
Now that RE is T.U. - who's making a decent TJ lift these days?
I think I'd cobble one together...get springs you want, some Currie JJ arms, etc.
