It seems like that is basically what you described, I would talk to Jeffrey!
    I love that Jeep!
I am hoping Jeff chimes in here...

I hope it does the trick.
Get a really good fan and shroud

Thanks - I'll look into that. What vehicle / years should I be looking at for junk yard sourcing?
Any good build write-up links you can point me to?
80's Chevy 1 Ton trucks 2 or 4 wheel drive, they will also have the master cylinder you need. I dont know of any good links off hand but search Pirate for hydroboost info, there is tons of info. Also this: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...s/#Vancoreview

Yeah, I'm leaning towards an HP 60. I'm just not sure how I want to go about it. I really like the Pro-Rock housing and the idea of having a complete axle delivered to my door. But, Dynatrac does not offer a king-pin solution - which, the more I read about it, seems to be the way to go (or the ONLY way to go if I want a behind the axle tie rod).... So, buy a ProRock housing and get it tubed elsewhere? or what?
Order it with tubes but no knuckles and then order up some Dedenbear C's and knuckles. Install and weld on yourself. Much easier to do than getting tubes pressed in. Not sure if Dynatrac allows that as an option though.

Yeah, I'm torn here. One of the real struggles I am having is that I am partial to inner fender-wells.
I was too at one point untill underhood temps got really hot then I got rid of inner fenders and havent looked back since.

Let me know if you ever want help once you get started Jay. And it needs to JD green not yellow!

On the 383 are you going to want it machined and built or just machined and you build/put it together. Depending on your current block you may not want to make it a 383. Casting walls of later 350 were thinner and when you grind out to allow for crank rotation they walls are way to thin to keep a motor running for long. Budlong sells build 383 and if I remember they were not that spendy, when compared to buying the stauff you need to make a stroker. i.e. 400 crank, rods, etc. If you 350 is running then you may be able to sell it to get into a 383.

Jeff has a LT1 in his jeep with slight mods. He may disagree but I think he has great power and wheel speed.

I want to jump on the LSx band wagon, and get a lighter motor that can produce 383 power.

Yup. I have 3 iron block LS family motors currently. I wouldnt go back to a 350 or LT1 when you can get 5.3s and 6.0s for pretty cheap and get some good power out of them.

    Darrell,

I want to start off and state here that I do not hold Budlong accountable for any of this.... it was all my doing. They have been great the whole time.

The 350 I had was given to Budlong a long time ago for machining/build - they machined it and built it (short block) and I paid for all the work and parts - but, I never picked it up because I didn't have room for it. I also gave them my heads for machining and an Edlebrock intake to have them bead-blast / clean it. They never did anything with them and I didn't give them any money for either. This was a looooong time ago....

I talked to them once a while back and they remembered me but had sold the motor and used the heads and were more than willing to get me set up again (since it was already paid for). But, even that was a loooong time ago....

So, at this point, I'm really not sure if I have a motor or not..... (which is why I would like some help from you here). It's been so long I can't really expect them to remember any of this or offer me any thing in return for the money I gave them. But, if they are willing to do something to help - that would be great.
